Hello, we meet again, I have come here to issue a number of posts.

Also, I don't think you have Christmas in China. Same as we don't have Hanukkah, even if there are a lot of Jewish people living in Poland.

As far as I know, Anet has banned chinese IPs from the game because the Chinese government wanted to force them to unban Gold Sellers from China, as it's a fair bit of revenue there. At least, I seem to recall something along these lines. I'll update the post when/if I remember/find the article in question.

Well, my first post in a very long time...

I'm in mainland China (working here for some years now) and my account, together with my wife's, is able to access Guild Wars just fine. A while back I had problems accessing the game. Contacted the local ISP which informed me they had nothing to do with it. Turns out it was Anet that first blocked, then banned us (both accounts in different moments) thinking we were gold sellers or something.

I contacted support services, explained the predicament and our benign intentions, and they eventually removed the block. Everything is working just fine since then. That was almost one year ago methinks.

I can't say I'm playing GW that much anymore. My absence from the forums reflects that. I'm *patiently* waiting for version 2. Sure hope I can still access the amazingly new game from China...

As a matter of fact, Guild Wars has the best connectivity from China considering all the other MMO's I've tried (WoW, EVE, Conan). Not including Asia, connecting to US servers [300-400ms] is a lot better then to the European ones (bless Thee, Anet, for making that hot-swap possible).

There might be other reasons involved in this case.
